Rourke's Cat and Fiddle Sportive - Sunday 14th October
Owen and I are big fans of Rourke Cycles. We absolutely love their history and heritage, their retro rides, their handmade frames, the gorgeous shots of their brazing, welds and paint finishes (their Instagram profile is well worth a follow!)
Anyway, Rourke Cycles hold an annual event - the Cat and Fiddle sportive. Last year Guy Martin (a well known customer of Rourke Cycles) and Jason Kenny both rode the sportive. The guest star rider for 2018 has yet to be confirmed. Either way, you can be guaranteed a great ride and a fun time.
Starting from the Rourke Cycles shop, situated in Stoke-on-Trent, the sportive will take you through 5 counties. Riders can revel in the beauty of the Peak District, and also endure the leg fatiguing Cat and Fiddle climb; which offers 7 miles of gruelling yet stunning climbing!
The sportive is a fund raising event, raising money to provide support services for children and adults suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.
You can enter on the day but you can also enter online, and if you book before the end of September you’ll pay a reduced ticket free of £20, instead of £25!
